Here Fishy, Fishy, Fishy

For those of you too young or too old to be familiar with the Bert & Ernie skit “Here Fishy, Fishy, Fishy” really should acquaint yourselves with it. It’s a classic. Click here to see it. On the occasions that my Dad and I found ourselves sitting in a boat with our lines dangling limply over the side without so much as a twitch all afternoon we would employ the Ernie technique. I can’t say that we had any better luck than Bert did, but at least we managed to entertain ourselves for a while.

Above is a picture of Ellie on an unfruitful fishing expedition. Her lack of success may be due to her boat “floating” on our patio miles away from any actual water. Nevertheless, she has decided to develop her own unique way of luring her aquatic prey. Here she is practicing her special fish face. We’ll keep you updated on any change in her luck.

Heading Off

"What do you mean that I'm too young to go to school? Just open the gate — I'll show ya!"

I understand there is this developmental stage where children like putting things around their neck and around their arms. Usually its underwear and bibs, but this time it was her backpack. She's always liked putting her blocks in there (and taking them back out again), but now it's "have blocks...will travel"! Posted by Picasa
