Lots of Firsts

Ellie had more firsts than we could keep track of while we were "home" with our families over Thanksgiving and Christmas. It was very kind of Ellie to save up these special moments to share with her extended family and new friends. Nana, Papa, Grandma, and Grandpa all experienced some of these once-in-a-lifetime events!

First Food!

Can you guess what it is? That's right -- sweet potato. Not her all-time favorite, but food #2, avocado, is to die for. "Pass the guacamole!"

First Swing!

There was enough warmth in Texas for time at the playground. "Look at me, I'm a big girl!"

First Christmas!

Yup, the bows, ribbons, paper, and boxes were the best part, but the toys are pretty fun, too. "Isn't this a pretty dress my Mummy gave me?"

First Visit with Santa!

There are alot of Santa imitators around at Christmas time, but the real deal happened to be at the mall just down the street from Grandma and Grandpa's. "It was fun until I looked up and realized I wasn't sitting on Daddy's knee!"

First Pull-Up!

Ever since learning the fine art of grabbing ahold of someone's fingers and pulling up, Ellie hasn't wanted to do much else. But she waited until returning to Durham before doing it completely on her own -- caught here with that delighted "Look what I can do!" expression on her face!
